The District Budget for next year has been updated with the latest information on state funding and the news is bleak indeed!  The 2010-2011 Budget requires $4 million in cuts which equates to over 50 teaching positions! This will affect every student at Miramonte. The changes may include:

  • Class size increases to the maximum allowed in English and Social Studies

  • Eliminate/reduce English electives (including Journalism and Public Speaking)

  • Eliminate/reduce 7th period elective

  • Limitations on science classes per year

  • Reduced AP course options

  • Limitations on arts, choral and instrumental electives

  • Shared Librarian(s) for four schools

  • Significant reduction in academic counselors per school

Thank you parents and teachers for attending the District and Miramonte information sessions regarding the budget situation.  For those who couldn’t make it, please review the Miramonte Budget slides to get more information on school finances, effects at Miramonte and how the community can help.

Detailed updates on the budget situation and its impacts on the Acalanes Union High School District can be accessed on the AUHSD website.
