The District Budget for next year has been updated with the latest information on state funding and the news is bleak indeed! The 2010-2011 Budget requires $4 million in cuts which equates to over 50 teaching positions! This will affect every student at Miramonte. The changes may include:

Class size increases to the maximum allowed in English and Social Studies

Eliminate/reduce English electives (including Journalism and Public Speaking)

Eliminate/reduce 7th period elective

Limitations on science classes per year

Reduced AP course options

Limitations on arts, choral and instrumental electives

Shared Librarian(s) for four schools

Significant reduction in academic counselors per school
