Mixed Chorus
Mixed Chorus is a beginning to intermediate choral group which performs throughout the year. Music of many styles, from renaissance through contemporary, is performed. Students learn the basics of singing different styles of choral music, vocal and breathing techniques, and how to rehearse and perform. In addition, music theory is introduced with an emphasis on the study of sight-singing, notation, phrasing, rhythm, harmony, and musical terminology. Mixed Chorus students must attend all rehearsals, performances, festivals, and concerts as indicated by the calendar. Performances are required. Although intended primarily as an introductory choir, experienced singers are also welcome.
