The Miramonte Public Speaking Showcase last night was amazing. If you missed the show, you can attend this evening at 7:00p.m., in the theater. Watch the Mats Bulletin every week to stay abreast of the week's activities. Three of our wonderful public speakers are featured on the bulletin.

PC President's Message

I am so very excited about this year's Miramonte Kitchen Tour! Co-chairs Victoria Bizieff and Lynn Garrett have planned a truly wonderful event including six beautiful kitchens, fabulous food and great raffle prizes. This event is open to the community at large and a great way to support Miramonte students at a time of continuing state budget pressures. To learn more, see the detailed information below or buy a ticket online now and invite your friends too! I hope to see you there!

If you're looking for something fun to do tonight, consider attending the Miramonte Public Speaking Showcase. It's an entertaining performance and also an opportunity to view how much our students learn and benefit from this nationally recognized program.

Miramonte Kitchen Tour of Orinda
{kitchen tour 2012}

The Miramonte Kitchen Tour is less than two weeks away so it is time to start thinking about getting your tickets!! Not only will there be six beautiful kitchens to admire, there will be delicious and tasty treats by Dianna Condon Cuisine and Barbacoa, Orinda's newest south-of the border restaurant. If the food and kitchens alone don't excite you, just wait until you see what Spiffy Chicks, professional organizers, can do to a simple pantry. But wait - there is so much more!!

Six amazing raffle prizes, each valued at approximately $500, have been generously donated for this event. Each of the graduating classes has created a basket full of fabulous items: a glamorous spa day; a relaxing weekend at the beach; a fun picnic at Cal Shakes; a sumptuous selection of wonderful wines and cheese; a beautiful designer's basket; and a photo session for your family. Raffle tickets will be available the day of the tour for $5.00 each or 5 /$20.00 at Wilder, where the baskets will be on display. Tickets are also available where tour tickets are sold (although not online).

The self guided tour starts at the Wilder Model Home - #5 Paintbrush Lane, Orinda on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets for the event are $35.00.

Boosters' Club

{Boosters 2010} Greetings to Miramonte Boosters and Prospective Booster Members!

2012 is nearly a month old and your Boosters' Board is hard at work getting ready for our spring sports and planning for our May 5th Boosters Fan Fest extravaganza. We know that you all have been racking your brains on how you can help support Miramonte Student Athletes. We are pleased to provide you with a short list of ideas:

1. If you are not a member, please join. We have about 1,100 student athletes and approximately 350 Booster members. Imagine what we could accomplish together with another 100, 200 or even 300 members?

2. We need donations for our upcoming Fan Fest Auction. Trips, events, wines, cars, boats, planes (rides), sporting goods, shopping sprees...anything you think has a value which we can use for our Fan Fest Auction. If you have any questions about an item you want to donate, please contact Alan Metheny. This event is successful each year because of the generosity of our Miramonte parents and their support!

3. We need Board Members for 2012-2013. Our final Board meeting of the year, where we elect new board members, is scheduled for Monday, June 4th. If you are interested in getting involved with the leadership of the Miramonte Boosters organization, come join us for monthly board meetings (February 6, 6-8pm, Miramonte Library).

Finally, mark your calendars for Saturday May 5th for the 2012 Miramonte Boosters' Fan Fest! We will be sending out more details in the coming weeks.

Go Mats! (Beat Campo)

Community News and Events

Lamorinda Listens -The goal of the Lamorinda Alcohol Policy Coalition is to reduce youth access to alcohol and underage drinking and to create a healthy and safe environment for youth in our communities .Each month we will feature a new topic and talking point for the community. The topics will deal with the health and wellness of our young people. Our goal is to unite Lamorinda by encouraging community members to discuss these very important topics in their own families and with each other. This will promote better awareness and discussion. January's topic: Just sharing family meals together can reduce teen drug and alcohol use.
