{VPA Logo} Visual & Performing Arts Club (VPA) The Visual & Performing Arts Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization comprised of parents of Miramonte students. The VPA Club works directly with VPA teachers to provide volunteer support and funding that enrich the arts experience for students and their audience. The VPA supports Art, Crafts, Choir, Computer Graphics, Dance, Digital Photography, Drama, Instrumental Music, Public Speaking, and Video Production. All students at Miramonte High School participate for at least one year in a Visual & Performing Arts program as part of their graduation requirements. Students with a gift and passion for the arts can continue their study through the many levels of classes offered.
Funding Our school relies on private funding from the Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO) and the VPA Club to maintain Visual & Performing Arts programs. Ninety percent of Visual & Performing Arts funding is provided solely by parent and community donations to EFO. The VPA Club provides the last bit of needed funding and it goes directly into the classroom to support teachers and students. For the 2009/2010 school year, the VPA raised almost $25,000 and funded the following:
Membership
The VPA invites you to join our club and become an active member of Miramonte Arts. All donations will go directly toward VPA teacher, student and classroom needs for the 2009/2010 school year. Members can join at one of three levels:
*Each Performance Pass admits one person to the VPA performance of their choice. The Performance Pass can be used for Spring Musical tickets.
Volunteer Support The VPA Board has one parent liaison serving as a board member for each VPA program. They work to assist teachers by organizing volunteers, promoting their programs and identifying areas for further VPA support. If you are interested in volunteering your time to support Miramonte Arts, contact VPA Vice President Stephanie McConnell. Community VPA funding allows our club to promote and foster a life-long love of the arts for our students and within the Orinda community. We work to provide opportunities for our students to present their art for the pleasure of the Miramonte student body and Orinda community.
